COVID-19 Stops the National Postal Forum

3 minute read

Rain, sleet, and snow may not be a problem for determined postal people, but a pandemic put a damper on the big event for America’s mailers. We were all sad when the National Postal Forum was cancelled this year, but it was the right decision. The warnings and advice issued by the US CDC about preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus were heeded to keep attendees, speakers, and exhibitors safe. Still, the cancellation was disappointing to many organizations, including Firstlogic Solutions.

We’d been looking forward to seeing our customers, partners, and others in the mailing industry in person. The booth was ready, the crew was prepared, and we had a plentiful supply of hand sanitizer bottles to hand out. We were way ahead of the times on this one. We’ve been suggesting booth visitors clean their hands and clean their data for years!

As everyone scrambles to find ways to replace the interaction with USPS officials and other postal experts from across the country one normally enjoys at the NPF, be prepared for an onslaught of mailed communications, webinars, podcasts, and other learning opportunities coming your way. You can still up your postal knowledge even if you’re sheltering in place. Firstlogic will continue to publish informational content to help our customers keep up to date on trends and strategies.

We planned to debut our newest software product, Enhance IQTM, at the NPF show in Orlando. Enhance IQ is a hybrid on-premise/in-cloud software solution that allows print/mail service providers, marketers, list vendors, and in-plant document operations to better target their communications and improve the ROI of their campaigns.

You can see how Enhance IQ works by scheduling a personal Enhance IQTM demonstration. Just get in touch and we’ll walk you through this brand new offering that allows you to add value to the data you’re already handling.

This new offering provides access to a wide selection of data quality and enhancement services using an on-premise user interface solution. Users  can build, store, and execute jobs that run on a maintenance-free cloud platform. This product allows service providers  to offer a myriad of data enhancement services to their customers.

The software includes opportunities for users to fine-tune the work to be performed including output file filters and file types, expressions, and options for many of the available services. Once designed, templates and jobs may be saved for future use. Minimal training is required and is included with the product.

Enhance IQ is available to any organization that needs to manipulate or enrich customer data. Companies already using Firstlogic’s DQ 10 software suite will find Enhance IQ especially useful. DQ 10 file specifications can be imported directly into Enhance IQ, eliminating the need for further data mapping. However, users need not hold licenses for other Firstlogic products to access the additional services available in Enhance IQ.

Available enhancement services include:

  • Data Cleansing: Deduplication, name parsing, and email verification
  • Data Appending: Gender, name, cell phone number, Do Not Call, and more
  • Address Standardization: CASS, NCOALink, geocoding, PCOA and ECOA
  • Data Suppression: Deceased, prison, nursing home, and Do Not Mail
  • Demographic Data Enhancement: Homeowner, income, dwelling type, age, and more

The Enhance IQ on-premise application maintains a complete history of submitted jobs including the job settings, submitter information, dates of submission and completion, reports produced, and all log messages. Users can produce built-in PDF reports using stored report data returned by the service. Service providers can add their own logos to Enhance IQ reports and share them with their clients. The raw data is made available should companies wish to design their own reports.

Firstlogic’s Managing Principal Ken Kucera sums it up nicely. “Enhance IQ makes it easy for service providers to add value to their offerings. They can simultaneously improve the performance of their customer’s marketing campaigns and add new revenue streams for themselves.”
