Introduction
Address IQ is standalone, CASS Certified™ batch software that validates, corrects, standardizes, and geocodes U.S. address data at high volume.
Overview
You give Address IQ an address, and it gives you back a corrected, complete, standardized version - while appending the postal, delivery, and geographic codes you need for accurate mailings and reliable data. It reads your records in bulk, verifies each one against official postal reference data, and writes clean output ready for mailing, matching, or analysis.
Address IQ is designed for high-volume batch processing. It runs jobs against files or databases, uses multi-threaded processing to move through millions of records efficiently, and produces the statistics and USPS forms that mailers rely on.
What it does
- Validate & correct addresses - verify that city, state, and ZIP Code agree, correct misspellings, fill in missing components, and standardize formatting against USPS data.
- Certify for postal automation - assign ZIP+4, delivery point, carrier route, and line-of-travel codes to qualify mailings for the deepest postage discounts.
- Confirm deliverability - flag undeliverable, vacant, and non-existent addresses, and confirm valid delivery points with DPV.
- Apply USPS enhancements - LACSLink, SuiteLink, RDI, eLOT, EWS, DSF2, and NCOALink move-update through Mover IQ.
- Geocode - append latitude/longitude and census codes for mapping and market analysis.
- Prepare data for matching - break addresses into discrete, standardized components so downstream matching and deduplication perform far better.
Address IQ vs. Realtime Services
Address IQ and AIQ Realtime Services share the same underlying address-assignment engine, but they are separate products with their own release cycles and documentation:
- Address IQ (this documentation) is the standalone batch product. You run it against whole files or database tables to process large volumes at once, producing corrected output, statistics, and USPS reports.
- AIQ Realtime Services is a containerized real-time webserver you call from your applications to validate addresses one request at a time.
Platform
Address IQ is CASS Certified™ software that runs on 64-bit Windows and Linux servers. Because performance scales with CPU cores, memory, and disk speed, your Firstlogic team can advise on sizing for your data volumes and throughput goals.
